Finding Positions in the U.S.

Interviewing

  • You can be more successful in an interview by becoming familiar with common cultural barriers in the job search.
  • Visit our Market Your International Experience pagea for advice on how to describe your international experience in an interview in ways that will appeal to employers.
  • It is important to consider how you will respond if someone asks you an illegal interview question during an interview, such as your visa type, nationality, or citizenship.
  • Practice interviewing before your interview so that you can comfortably articulate how your international experience makes you a stronger candidate. You can practice answering common interview questions using an online tool called InterviewStream, which allows you to record videos of yourself to review.
