Virtual Platform

We will be using Handshake’s new virtual career fair platform. We will be continually sharing further resources and training materials with registered attendees to help you and your team adapt successfully to this new format. We appreciate your patience as we learn this new and exciting way to offer virtual career fairs together.

While the virtual fair facilitates informal 1:1 meeting times with students, JMU does offer on-campus interviewing and virtual interviewing options if you would like to schedule more formal follow up interviews with candidates you met during the fair. Feel free to reach out to handshake@jmu.edu for more information on scheduling formal interviews following your fair participation.

  • Registration Opens: May 1, 2020
  • Registration Closes: September 15, 2020 or when all slots fill (whichever occurs first)
  • Cancellation Deadline for 100% refund: September 1, 2020
  • Cancellation Deadline for 50% refund: September 15, 2020
  • No refund will be issued for cancellations received after September 15, 2020
  • Payment is due at the time your registration is approved.

Our registration fees will remain the same for our virtual fair.

  • $100: 501(c)(3) Charitable Non-Profit Organizations (To verify status, your tax ID will be needed as you provide your contact information.)

Proceeds from the career fair are used in part to fund the Unpaid Internship Scholarship Program.

  • Login to our online recruiting platform Handshake.
  • Navigate to the ‘Fairs’ tab on the left and search ‘JMU Campus-Wide Virtual Career Fair.’
  • Consult the Handshake Help Center’s Registering for a Fair instructions for further information.
  • Our office will review your registration request within 3 business days.
  • While third party recruiters are welcome to attend the fair, we require they only recruit for their own positions, rather than attending the fair with the intent to staff external positions.
