Treo 650 - Syncing to OCAL via Mac OS X
Download
the Oracle Calendar Sync tool, unpack, and place the installer in the Palm folder located in Applications.
Once installed double click on the Oracle Calendar Sync.prc file located in /Applications/Palm/Add-on/.
The Oracle Calendar Sync.prc will show up in the Install Handheld Files options.
Move the Tasks, Calendar, and Contacts conduits, located in /Library/Application Support/Palm Hotsync/Conduits/ to the Disabled Conduits folder.
Download
the Oracle Calendar Desktop Client and install.
Upon opening the program you will need to configure the User Name and server by clicking Other…
Click New… to configure the JMU OCAL settings.
Enter in a connection name and ocal.jmu.edu for the server.
Next click Lookup.
Select Configure For Specific User:, enter the user's E-ID, and click Configure.
Click OK at the Connection Editor window.
Back at the Connection Manager set the new connection as default by clicking the Make Default button.
At the Sign-in window enter the User Name, then log in using E-ID password.
Once logged in go to the Oracle Calendar menu and select Preferences.
In the left panel of the Preferences window click Offline.
Select the Download tab in the right panel.
Make sure the Automatically download radio button is selected. Also make sure that the two checkboxes below are checked.
First Palm Hotsync will install Oracle Setup on Palm.
Browse to Oracle Setup on the Palm.
Input the same User name that appears in the OCAL desktop client.
Password is user's E-ID password.
Server is ocal.jmu.edu
Click the
next to Sign-In in the upper right-hand corner of the Treo screen and choose Addresses.
Put the user's name in the Name field of this screen.
