Our Peer Educators provide peer-facilitated workshops on topics relating to LGBTQ+ identities for classes, organizations, and other student groups on JMU’s campus. To request a peer-to-peer workshop, use this quick, easy form. Topics can include:

Identities 101

30-40 minutes

Covers identities and related terminology used in the LGBTQIQAP+ acronym, introductory level.

 

Trans 101

40-50 minutes

Covers different identities and terminology related to the trans community. Intermediate level. 

 

Facilitated Scenarios

50-90 minutes

An interactive discussion with 2-3 scenarios involving different identities and concepts related to the LGBTQ+ community. Intermediate to advance level.

 

SafeZone Program

45-60 minutes

Questions are fielded from SafeZone participants about experiences on campus and best practices. Mist be requested by a SafeZone Facilitator.

 

Build Your Own

30+ minutes

Programs can be created via communication with the SOGIE Education Coordinator based on the needs of the requester.
