We sit a lot in our society: we sit to eat, we sit to drive, we may sit at work if we have a desk job, we sit to watch TV or use our electronics, etc... And while there is nothing wrong with sitting down, when we sit for prolonged periods of time, we can increase our risk of health concerns. Over-sitting can increase your chances of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, and other health issues.

This 2-week challenge is encouraging you to "break up with your chair" throughout the day. Find times and opportunities to get out of our chairs and stand a little more. We are encouraging you to make an effort to get out of your seat every hour for a minimum of 2 minutes. This can be to simply stand up, walk to the restroom, grab some water, take a walk down the hallway. It may be helpful to set a timer on your phone as a reminder to "stand up".

Throughout this challenge, we invite you to keep track of how often you make the choice to "break up with your chair" throughout the day
