Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)

Sexual Assault Awareness Month takes place each April and includes a variety of events throughout the month where our community can learn about prevention, support those who have experienced sexual violence, and engage the topic while finding connections with others. As this is a national awareness month, you can find many SAAM events offered through The Well, through various campus departments, and in the community.

 2020 SAAM Events

Clothesline Project is an annual visual display event that bears witness to sexual assault and intimate partner violence. Visitors are invited to view t-shirts created by JMU students, faculty, staff, and local community members that represent their experience with intimate partner violence, sexual assault, or sexual victimization. This is a silent event to ensure that respect is given to those who may be a survivor or who may know someone who is a survivor. Sponsored by Residence Life.
