All of the following eligibility requirements must be met in order to qualify for an interview with CSP for either the Program GA or the GA Mentor assistantships.

Admission to JMU Graduate School

Apply to the graduate program of your choice through the Graduate School’s website. Once you have submitted your Graduate School application, you may proceed with CSP’s application process for an assistantship with our office. The graduate assistantship provides tuition support which covers a total of 36 credit hours (9 credit hours per semester) and a paid stipend throughout the academic year. While we accept both in-state and out-of-state students, CSP only covers the in-state tuition rates. Please refer back to the Graduate School's website for complete details on tuition.

Applied to Graduate School, but still awaiting on a response? We still encourage you to apply to CSP prior to our deadline. During the interview process, we will confirm your acceptance into a JMU Graduate program.

Completion of FAFSA

While there is no financial need requirement for graduate students, all applicants must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in the spring as a condition of acceptance of a CSP assistantship.

Submit CSP Online Application

All applicants must successfully submit an application through JMU JobLink by the stipulated deadline. Please refer to the Graduate application process for specific instructions.
