Center for Faculty Innovation

Join us at the JMU farm for a *new* two-day faculty retreat to make progress on your work and engage in wellness and community- building activities. Both days will offer a mix of time and space to work quietly alongside others; teaching, wellness, and scholarship consultations with CFI faculty; wellness activities; and an opportunity to end the time together with a campfire and a chance to connect “s’more” with colleagues.

For example, participants can focus on:

  • Making headway grading mid-semester assignments in community with other faculty.
  • Getting a head start on their spring syllabi.
  • Taking a teaching consultation about mid-semester changes needed in their classes.
  • Making progress on scholarly projects.
  • Exploring wellness needs, pathways, and practices.
  • Prioritizing self and mutual care.
  • Integrating wellness and well-being into your work.
  • OR whatever else you would like to focus on!

Recognizing you may be teaching on Tuesday, and that Wednesday is fall break, we invite you to attend portions of the day or the entire retreat as your schedule allows. Coffee/tea, snacks, and lunch will be provided. A detailed schedule of opportunities and consultants will be sent to registered participants before the retreat.
