Lucy Saunders graduated from James Madison University this past spring with her BA in English. She has since recognized her love for learning and an eagerness to continue her studies. During her time as an undergraduate, she had several poems published in “Iris,” a campus literature magazine while also spending her time serving as an editor for “RhetTech,” JMU’s literary journal. She is most drawn to the Gothic genre and Victorian era of literature, though she is excited to expand her horizons and become well-versed in a variety of genres. She hopes to pursue a PhD after grad school to further her love of learning as a professor.

Outside of the academic year, she dedicates her time to a dude ranch in Colorado, where she works with horses in the Rio Grande National Forest. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, scrapbooking, listening to vinyl, practicing yoga, and thrifting. She is fueled by her pursuit of academia, and can’t imagine a life devoid of learning. She is absolutely thrilled for the next two years within the master's program and for the opportunity to immerse herself in such a variety of literature!
