Katharine Benson is from West Chester, Pennsylvania. She graduated from West Chester University in 2025 with a BA in English Literature and a minor in Digital Marketing. During her academic experience, she published and designed for her school's literary magazine for three consecutive years and hopes to transfer those learned skills to her future academic and professional goals. Throughout her undergraduate journey, Katharine developed a deep interest and appreciation for African American Literature and black feminist theorists, including the work of Michele Wallace, Octavia Butler, and modern applications of Du Boisian theory.
Outside of academia, Katharine enjoys discussing and watching films centered in WWII history, reading fantasy novels, enjoying time outdoors, and spending quality time with her family. Whether she’s hiking a trail or analyzing a novel, she finds inspiration in both the natural world and the power of stories. In the future, Katharine hopes to pursue a career in higher academia and earn her PhD, where she can continue her research on race, gender, and narrative theory while mentoring students and contributing to inclusive, transformative scholarship.
