Free one-on-one consultations
Any JMU student, faculty, or staff working on a digital project or online portfolio can make an appointment to work with one of our peer tutors. Our consultations are hands-off: we're here to help, but we never touch your computer! Our mission is to empower you to be a content creator, and we want to make sure you leave our consultation more confident and excited about your digital project. Consultations are one-on-one and can last up to 45 minutes.
What we can help you with
- Any class assignment involving Wix, Weebly, or other online web builders
- Creating your own professional digital portfolio for the job market
- Personal Branding to create a consistent and professional online persona
- Class assignments with a JMU-hosted WordPress
- Document design
What we can't help you with
- Handcoding a site. We recommend checking out JMU's Lynda.com video tutorials.
- Resumes. We recommend you check out the services at Career Center!
- Personal Statements or Letters of Interest. We recommend you make an appointment at the University Writing Center!
- The Adobe Creative Suite. We use free tools like Canva, PiktoChart, Silk, etc. Check out MadLabs for Adobe workshops.
