Vision

To cultivate exceptional school leadership, including effective leadership in special education, by providing high-quality professional learning, development, and support for assistant principals. 

Mission

The VAAPI strives to foster a robust assistant principal workforce that demonstrates leadership efficacy, champions best practices in safe and supportive learning environments, and ensures equitable and inclusive educational opportunities for all students, including those with disabilities.

VAAPI at EERA

The Executive Directors of VAPSP, Ms. Jaclyn R. Nickel and Dr. Monica B. Smith-Woofter, and the VAAPI Lead, Dr. Eileen M. Oliver-Eggert, recently presented at the Eastern Education Research Association (EERA) conference.  Their EERA presentation highlighted the development of the Virginia Assistant Principal Institute and the research which supports its design, need, and implementation.
