The COE has a powerful partner in Nasaruni Academy, a K-12 school for young Maasai women. COE students are able to study abroad at Nasaruni, and we are exploring scholarly collaboration with Maasai Mara University in Narok.

Colombia

Beginning in 2024, students will have the opportunity to study abroad in three major Colombian cities as part of an exploration of Latin American culture and education.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

The COE enjoys multiple partnerships in Northern Ireland, from exchanges in educational leadership to practicum experiences in schools.

Pristina, Kosovo

Students from the COE attend the two-week Pristina International Summer Institute, learning next to classmates from around the world.

Dominican Republic

The COE partners with the Honors College at JMU to conduct a spring break study abroad at multiple sites in the DR.

Guanajuato, Mexico

COE partners in the community and at the University of Guanajuato to host a group of students over spring break, as well as in extended summer opportunities for language learning and service.

Costa Rica

COE study abroad opportunities in Costa Rica offer course credit toward TESOL licensure.

Summer study abroad in Jamaica focuses on leadership and diversity coursework for educators and administrators.

Istanbul, Turkey

A faculty exploratory team is traveling to Istanbul in 2024 to establish partnerships in K-12 and higher education, with the goal of a study abroad program and possible employment paths.
