What is Educational Technology (Ed Tech)?
Educational Technology, also referred to as Ed Tech, is a field that involves hardware, software, and processes to enhance all aspects of education (design, teaching, learning, and access) across the lifespan of learning experiences. Ed Tech professionals collaborate with others to facilitate the integration of technology, and access to, learning environments.
About the JMU’s Educational Technology Graduate Programs
Our 100% online graduate programs serve learners who are interested in leveraging hardware, software, and processes to enhance all aspects of education, including instructional design, teaching, learning, and access.
We offer three programs designed for those who work or intend to work, in education. Each of our programs, including our Master of Education with a concentration in Educational Technology and our Educational Technology and eLearning Graduate Certificates will provide you with techniques and use cases for learning with and through technology.
Upon graduation from any of our Ed Tech programs, you will be prepared to advance in the workplace, make career changes, or pursue doctoral work in the field.

Master of Education with a Concentration in Educational Technology
Our 33-credit-hour Master of Education with a concentration in Educational Technology degree program fosters engagement with research, theory, design, technologies, and practice in the discipline.

Our 12-credit-hour graduate certificates are perfect for those looking to enter the field of Educational Technology or for those planning to obtain an M.Ed. in the future.
