Research Description
Dr. Reisner’s interests range from inorganic materials synthesis and characterization to chemistry education research. With the Interactive Online Network of Inorganic Chemists (IONiC), she studies how changes in the classroom affect student learning, interest, and motivation. Education projects in her lab include understanding student conceptions of solid state bonding models and coordination chemistry. Her benchtop chemistry focuses on developing metal organic framework (MOF) – polymer composite materials for water remediation. This project involves both chemical synthesis and materials characterization using a wide array of instrumentation.
