Can your organization support a work-based learning experience for JMU students?
Our partners for work-based learning experiences include the full spectrum of nonprofit, business, and community organizations. Some of our partners are located within campus, such as the Edith J. Carrier arboretum or many of the on-campus employers. Both small and large businesses can host internships, micro-internships, or a course-embedded project or experience.
Small businesses can partner with a class to serve as a client for student-generated projects.
Large businesses have partnered with research labs or X-labs.
The Community Engagement and Volunteer Center (CEVC) serves as the central point of connection between faculty and community partners.
We are pleased to offer a suite of resources aimed at supporting those who supervise student employees in work-based learning experiences. These will be useful to external employers who supervise interns, campus employers who supervise students, and nonprofit and community partners who supervise student workers and volunteers.
