Teacher Recruitment Day will be held on campus in the Festival Conference & Student Center Ballroom. 

  • 8:30AM-10AM: Check-in at Festival Ballroom
  • 10AM-12PM: Career Fair in Festival Ballroom
  • 12PM-4PM: Interviews
    All interviews will be conducted in 20-minute increments at your table in the Festival Ballroom and/or Conference Room. In addition, if you signed up for a conference room your interviews will be held in the room you reserved. Please note: Recruiters are responsible for scheduling all morning, afternoon, and lunch breaks.



  • Registration Opens: November 1, 2021
  • Registration Closes: February 18, 2022 or when we reach our employer limit for the fair (whichever occurs first)
  • Cancellation Deadline for 100% refund: February 11, 2022
  • Cancellation Deadline for 50% refund: February 22, 2022
  • No refund will be issued for cancellations received after February 22, 2022
  • Payment is due at the time your registration is approved.


  • All registration fee payments are by credit card only. Any payments sent via check will, unfortunately, be returned.
  • Payment is due at the time your registration is approved. Your registration is not complete until payment has been received.
  • All registration fees include table (8 foot by 2 foot), event publicity, and 2 representatives. Each organization is limited to 1 table only and 4 representatives total (additional representatives beyond the included 2, require additional payment).
  • Afternoon interviews will be conducted at the same table used for the career fair portion of the event, unless you have reserved one of our limited Extra Interview Rooms.
  • $100: Basic Registration
  • $150: Basic Registration + Extra Interview Room. We have 10 extra interview rooms, reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis (This option includes 4 representatives for this $150 fee).
  • $15: Per Additional Attendee
  • $15: Booth Proximity to Electrical Outlet

Proceeds from the career fair are used in part to fund the Unpaid Internship Scholarship Program.


  • Login to our online recruiting platform Handshake.
  • Navigate to the ‘Fairs’ tab on the left and search ‘Teacher Recruitment Day, 2022.’
  • Consult the Handshake Help Center’s Registering for a Fair instructions for further information.
  • Our office will review your registration request within 3 business days.

While third party recruiters are welcome to attend the fair, we require they only recruit for their own positions, rather than attending the fair with the intent to staff external positions. 

Inclement Weather

Inclement Weather Date: Thursday, March 3, 2022

  • If the university is closed due to inclement weather or the opening of the university is delayed until 11AM or later, the fair will be rescheduled to our inclement weather date of Thursday, March 3, 2022.
  • If you are unable to attend on the rescheduled date we will issue a full refund. 

If the university opens by 10AM the fair will run as scheduled. In the event that the university closes during the day the event will be immediately cancelled. For JMU cancellation information go to or call 540-433-5300.
