Career Questions: Schedule an Appointment in Handshake

Current students and alumni who are 2 years out from graduation can schedule appointments with Career Advisors to discuss careers, jobs, internships, resumes, cover letters, interviewing, and graduate school.

Undeclared Advising or Major Exploration Questions: Schedule an Appointment in Acuity

Current and prospective students are welcome to schedule appointments with University Advising Academic Advisors to discuss choosing or changing majors and minors, transfer credit, and other advising questions.

Appointment Instructions

For in-person appointments, these will be conducted in the Student Success Center. Come to SSC 3210 and check in at the front desk when you arrive. Your appointment will be held in an open space (our Resource Center) to allow for maximum physical distancing. We have plexiglass barriers on the meeting table, and all visitors are required to wear a mask when they visit our space. Another student and Career Advisor may be meeting in the Resource Center at the same time during your appointment, but 6 feet away. If you would like a more private option, please choose one of the other appointment mediums (email, phone, or video) listed below.

For email appointments, the UCC staff member you have an appointment with will be in touch with you about how to send your documents to them. Please be sure to sure to include any specific questions you have in your reply.

For phone appointments, if you did not include your phone number when you originally booked the appointment, please update your meeting on Handshake by visiting You can add your phone number where it says "Add Comment". A UCC staff member will call you at this number at the time of your appointment.

For video appointments, Zoom is the platform UCC uses. You will need a computer with a webcam pr a tablet or phone with a camera, and you may need to download a browser plugin for Zoom. You can find the link for your appointment by logging into Handshake and visiting Click on the appointment, and scroll to the "Where" section on the left hand side. Click on this web address in your internet browser to start Zoom. If you have technical difficulties you can send a message with your phone number to the University Career Center staff member by clicking "Add Comment" in your appointment in Handshake. Then the appointment can switch to a phone appointment.
