My Career Journey
Up to this point, my Career Journey has been anything but linear. I am a native of Virginia but found myself moving to North Carolina to pursue my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theatre from High Point University. I took many years "testing around" to see what sparked my interest. I completed a year of Vet Tech school and served with AmeriCorps for two years. This experience allowed me to realize that I love working with individuals and making connections with local communities. My first professional job was as a Resident Director at my Alma Mater- solidifying my desire to work in Higher Education in a Counseling/Student Affairs area. I then completed my Masters in Education (M.Ed.) at NC State University, concentrating in College Counseling and Student Development. Was an Academic Advisor- but knew I was meant for Career Advising. Now I am here! Excited to be a Duke Dog, supporting/advising Students with their Career Endeavors!

- I'm an avid reader! Always have a book on hand and have never read less than 75 books per year.
- Cut my finger during a live Theatre performance, resulting in the performance shutting down and me having to go to the Emergency room. Got 14 stitches from it.
- Am a Dual Citizen- UK and USA. Love talking about British History, especially the Tudor dynasty, and drinking tea.
