Interested in being in the Honors Program?  Do you have a 3.50
or higher cumulative GPA?  Applications can be found on the FORMS
page of the website.  Please review the requirements and program
handbook before applying.

FEBRUARY

Monday, February 8 - Senior Honors Project Panel Discussion
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM - Shenandoah Hall Pavilion Rm# 1006
Seniors currently working on their senior project will speak to feshmen
and sophomores about their project and their experiences with it.
Program directors will be present to answer questions and acquaint
students with the process involved with the senior honors project.

Monday, Feb 22 - National Scholarships Panel Discussion
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM - Shenandoah Hall Pavilion Rm# 1006
Applicants for national scholarships will talk about their experience
with the application process.  Dr. Melinda Adams, JMU's Prestigious
Scholarships Coordinator, will be present to answer questions and acquaint
students with the process of applying for national scholarships.

MARCH

Monday, March 29 thru Friday, April 2 - Senior Project Formatting Check
Individual formatting review of senior projects by an Honors Program Director
for students completing their senior projects for May/Aug 2010 graduation.

APRIL

Wednesday, Apr 7 - Completed Senior Honors Projects due for
May 2010 grads only

Scholarship Winners
The Honors Program is pleased to recognize two recent national scholarships
winners, Traci Cox and Jamey Szalay. Traci, who graduated from JMU and
the Honors Program in 2008, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to
Slovakia where she will be an English Teaching Assistant in Zilina.
Jamey, a Physics major and Honors Program student, was awarded the
Goldwater Scholarship which supports undergraduate study in Science,
Mathematics, and Engineering. Congratulations to both Traci and
Jamey on winning these very prestigious and competitive awards!
