Application Requirements

Application Deadline

The Spanish Language And Culture for Educators program accepts applications on a rolling basis. Completed applications should be received at least 6 weeks prior to the start of the semester in which the student intends to enroll.

Program Begins



Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with your electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, you will be directed and required to submit to the JMU Graduate School an official transcript from any institution from which a degree has been awarded to finalize your admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

Required by Program
  • Current resume or CV
  • Personal Statement explaining why you are pursuing a Dual Master's Degree in Spanish Language and Culture for Educators.
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Video upload answering the question - Why do you want to pursue this master's program? Please answer in Spanish (no more than 2 minutes). This is optional.
  • An officially accredited report of B2 Spanish level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) or Spanish as a native language or a Bachelor's degree in Spanish

Test Requirements

GRE scores required for applicants with less than 5 years of full-time teaching experience.
