Scholarship Overview
An endowed scholarship limited to undergraduate and graduate flute students majoring in music at JMU. Recipients shall be selected by the scholarship committee in consultation with the senior, principal flute teacher who will nominate one or more first- time candidates annually by formal letter to the Department of Music Scholarship Committee. The letter will include justification on the basis of the merit of each nominee. The committee may award scholarships in varying amounts and numbers depending upon the number and merit of nominees. Scholarships will be renewable as long as the student continues majoring in flute and remains in good standing. An application of renewal must be initiated by the student in the Spring of each year. Decisions to renew scholarships will be made by the scholarship committee in consultation with the senior, principal flute teacher.
