Freshman Merit-based
The primary criterion for merit-based scholarships is exceptional academic performance. Other selection criteria may include leadership, involvement, and career goals. Learn more here.
Freshman Need-based
To be eligible for need-based scholarships at JMU, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The largest need-based scholarship is the Centennial Scholars Program.
Transfer
Both merit and need-based scholarships are available for incoming transfer students. Learn more here.
Madison Scholarships Hub is the application center for all 2020-2021 award year JMU Foundation scholarships administered by the following areas: Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, College of Arts & Letters, and the College of Business. To log in, go to MyMadison and under the Applicant tab click on the logo for Madison Scholarships Hub. Qualifications for the majority of our scholarships are based on the general application information as well as information pulled directly from your admissions application. Complete the general application (available mid-December) prior to the deadline of March 1st for incoming students, and you may be presented with recommended scholarship opportunities. You should review the criteria for each scholarship and complete the associated application if you wish to be considered for the scholarship.
