Scholarship Overview

An endowed scholarship established by Joan Yablon in memory of her daughter, Suzanne Pollack, a 1990 graduate of the university. This scholarship is intended to benefit a deserving student from the Baltimore, Maryland area. The recipient must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the JMU Office of Financial Aid. The recipient will be selected as an incoming freshman with a high school grade point average of 2.75 and will continue to receive this scholarship as long as he/she remains an active, full time student at JMU and continues to meet the scholarship requirements. If at any time the student recipient fails to meet these requirements or when the student completes their undergraduate study and graduates, a new incoming freshman student will be selected based on the established criteria.
