Scholarship Overview

An endowed scholarship established in memory of Brent J. Rhoads, a JMU student and member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, who died on October 5, 1994. This scholarship is intended to benefit a JMU student who is a rising junior with demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Preference will be given to a student who is a member in good standing of a JMU Greek organization. All candidates must submit an application, which may include an essay for consideration. The student recipient may continue to receive the scholarship until graduation, as long as he/she continues to meet the selection criteria. Recommendations may be made by the Rhoads family, leaders of the JMU Greek organization, and LXA alumni. Administration of the scholarship, and final selection will be conducted by the JMU Scholarship Office.
