Scholarship Overview

An endowed scholarship established April 1991, by Donald and Frances Litten to honor Dr. Carrier's twentieth year at JMU. Recipients of the JM Scholars Scholarship must have demonstrated academic potential as evidenced by grades and college entrance exam scores; who also have a genuine enthusiasm for life and learning and a demonstrated willingness to engage in creative, challenging activities outside the classroom. This scholarship is for attracting and retaining scholars in higher education. This scholarship may be awarded one time only or may follow the recipient thru their undergraduate years not to exceed a total of four years (five years for majors requiring a fifth year) provided the student is in good merit standing.
