Scholarship Overview

An endowed scholarship established with a gift from Penny and Bill George for the benefit of James Madison University and will provide the financial resources to establish and support the Penny Henley ('66) George and Bill George Scholarship Endowment. Through this scholarship, funds will be provided annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar enrolled at James Madison University who demonstrates a need for financial assistance, as determined by the University's Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The appointment of a student as a Penny Henley ('66) George and Bill George Scholar shall follow the University's guidelines for the awarding of scholarships.

To be eligible for the Penny Henley ('66) George and Bill George Scholarship, a student must, at the time of application/nomination for this scholarship, demonstrate that the student is:

  • An undergraduate student.
  • Virginia resident.
  • Active in community service; documentation regarding community service experiences should accompany the application/nomination.
