Bloodborne Pathogens

The bloodborne pathogens program is designed to provide service to employees who may be at risk of occupational exposure to human blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) in the workplace, which could contain pathogens such as Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), and others. Additionally, it covers the university’s training, vaccination, and incident reporting programs.

Hazard Communication

The hazard communication program develops, implements, and maintains an electronic Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system to ensure accurate inventory management and long-term record retention in compliance with regulatory standards. Risk management provides training to the university community on system use and serves as the primary liaison with the system vendor to ensure timely updates, troubleshooting, and support.
