Privacy Statement: The JMU LGBTQ Employee group is committed to advocating for equality in the spirit of inclusivity and transparency for everyone who works at JMU, while also respecting the privacy and confidentiality of its members. The LGBTQ Employee group at JMU sends and receives regular communication using JMU affiliated systems and resources. With very few exceptions, all recorded information that documents a transaction or activity by or with university employees as part of their job is considered a public record and subject to disclosure under circumstances described by state law and university policy. In the event of special cases or issues that require particular sensitivity, communication may occur using non-JMU systems and resources. JMU employees who are members or allies of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ) community are welcome to join the LGBTQ Employee group. Other members of the broader JMU campus and Shenandoah Valley communities are welcome to attend gatherings and social events organized by the group. Connect with us!


The LGBTQ Employee Group gathers virtually or in person on an occasional basis to network and build social relationships, as well as to share occasional updates. Watch the listserv for details and announcements about upcoming gatherings.


The JMU_LGBTQ_FACULTY_STAFF listserv is the primary method of communication among the group.  The listserv is a lightly used list for social and informational announcements.  Use this as a tool to keep up to date on actions and opportunities around campus.
