Last week Governor Northam issued Executive Directive Eighteen and JMU must comply, effective Monday, August 16. All guests attending the JMU Faculty and Staff Picnic will be required to wear masks while indoors, unless actively eating and drinking. We also ask that you stay at home if you are sick or were recently exposed to COVID-19. The safety, health and well-being of students, staff and their families is our top priority. 

Date: Tuesday, August 17, 2021

Time: Picnic begins at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m. 

Location: The lawn behind the Festival Conference and Student Center 

Parking: No parking permits will be necessary in C11, C12, C10, D3, D6 and East Campus Parking Deck between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17. Review the campus parking map for more information. 

Note: regular enforcement will continue in other parking lots, and guests may receive parking citations if parked in restricted lots. Guests are prohibited from parking in specialty spaces such as Service Vehicle spaces, handicap spaces without proper permit, or expired meters. They are also prohibited from parking in Fire Lanes.

Attendees: JMU Faculty, Staff, Emeriti and Affiliates are invited to bring their immediate family members (limit 5 total). Please note: If you have a family that is larger than five (5) total, we will gladly make an exception so they can all attend. Please email universityevents@jmu.edu to inquire about this exception. 

Pets are not permitted, unless they are service animals
