A "College Partnership Laboratory School”, or “Lab School” means a public school established by a public institution of higher education, public higher education center, institute, or authority; or an eligible private institution of higher education as defined in § 23.1-628.
The Lab School is currently offered at the following Rockingham County high schools:
9th Grade Lab School Locations:
- Broadway High School (BHS)
- East Rockingham High School (ERHS)
- Spotswood High School (SHS)
- Turner Ashby High School (TAHS)
10th Grade Lab School Locations:
Our Lab School provides an opportunity for students to gain experiences to influence their future academic opportunities, provide clarity and knowledge on career pathways, and receive exposure with their educators to new ideas and teaching methods.
Any student in Virginia is welcome to apply—no testing, GPA, or other qualifications required.
The only requirement is that the student lives in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Due to limited space, all students must submit an application. If we receive more applications than available spots, a random lottery will be used to select students.
The application window for the 2026–2027 school year will open in mid-March 2026.
Applications will be available:
- At all RCPS middle and high schools
- For download on this website (link coming soon)
