
Undergraduate EXED Minor in Exceptional Education
The undergraduate EXED minor is designed for students in programs outside of the Educational Foundations & Exceptionalities Department (e.g. Communication Sciences Disorders, Psychology, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Social Work, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, etc.) who desire to learn more about persons with disabilities.
The minor is not an endorsement or license for working with special education students.
Who is eligible: Students who entered JMU prior to the summer/fall 2022 (i.e. spring 2022 or before) are eligible. Students who entered JMU for summer or fall 2022 (transfer or first year students) are not eligible for this minor.
Deadline for declaration: Interested students must declare the minor through MyMadison by Dec 9, 2022.
Completion deadline: Students must complete the minor by the end of the spring semester 2025.
If you are declaring this minor you will need to Download, Complete and Return via email the below Student Information Sheet and tentative Program Plan. If all is in order your pending Declaration will be approved and this will put you officially in the minor.
