Biography

Dr. Atwood is the Director of JMU’s Counseling and Psychological Services and Interprofessional Services for Learning Assessment clinics and an Associate Professor in the Department of Graduate Psychology. Dr. Atwood is licensed as both a professional counselor and clinical psychologist in the state of Virginia. She is a credentialed Health Service Psychologist, who has provided services across the lifespan to diverse populations. Previous training and work experiences include in-home and outpatient community mental health, school-based services, college counseling, hospitals (integrated care, inpatient, and outpatient), rural integrated care clinics, and private practice.
