Nanfei Liu graduated from JMU in 2017 and holds a B.A. in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Communication and Advocacy Studies with a focus on Strategic Communications.

As an international student from Johannesburg, South Africa, she was determined to make the most of her experience abroad. During her time at JMU she participated in multiple student organizations ranging from professional to social clubs.

Following graduation she served as the Media Relations Coordinator representing the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Education from 2017-2018. Shortly after, she moved into an exciting role as the Social Media Manager at the University Marketing and Branding department from 2018-2020 . She recently transitioned from the role of Assistant Director of Digital Experience and Engagement for the Office of Alumni Relations (2020-2021) to serve The Center for Global Engagement as their Communication Specialist.

Outside of the office, you can find her playing piano for her plants, walking her cat (yes, with a leash), and indulging in fantasy novels.
