Required Courses for the 1st Semester

1st-Semester Major Requirements:

If your ALEKS score is 56 or above, enroll in a Chemistry course based on the chart below:

  • CHEM 131: General Chemistry I (3 credit hours)
  • CHEM 135L: Special General Chemistry Lab I (1 credit hour) 

Credit for CHEM 131

  • CHEM 132: General Chemistry II (3 credit hours)
  • CHEM 135L: Special General Chemistry Lab I (1 credit hour) 

Credit for BOTH CHEM 131 and CHEM 132

  • CHEM 135L: Special General Chemistry Lab I (1 credit hour) 

The MyMadison system will not allow you to enroll in Chemistry if you do not meet the ALEKS requirement.
