Mr. James E. "Jim" Hartman of Harrisonburg is rector of the board and a 1970 graduate of JMU and is president and chief executive officer of Truck Enterprises Inc.  He has been a board member of the JMU Duke Club and Greater Madison.   Term: 2008-2012.

Mr. Joseph K. Funkhouser II of Harrisonburg is vice-rector of the board and president of Coldwell Banker Funkhouser Realtors. Term: 2008-2012.

 

Mrs. Susan Allen of Alexandria, VA is former First Lady of Virginia.  Term:  2010-2014.

Mr. Kenneth Bartee of Oak Hill, VA is President of Decisive LLC.  He has his MBA from the University of Colorado-Denver and is a 1983 graduate of JMU.  Term:  2010-2014.

Mr. Pablo Cueves of Broadway, VA serves on the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors.  Term 2011-2015.

Mr. Ronald C. Devine of Burke, a 1978 graduate of JMU is president of A&R Foods, Inc. which owns and operates Burger Kings and other restaurants. He is also an owner/partner in Springfield Company, a real estate and commercial property commercial lending business. Term: 2010-2014.

 

Mr. Barry E. DuVal of Williamsburg, VA is President and CEO for the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.  He is a 1981 graduate of James Madison University.  Term 2011-2015.

 

Ms. Vanessa M. Evans of Charlottesville is the associate director of the Ron Brown Scholar Program. Ms. Evans currently serves on the Board of the National Scholarship Providers Association and is the former President of JMU's Black Alumni Chapter.  She received a B.B.A.(1993) and a M.Ed.(1997) from James Madison University. Term: 2008-2012.

 

Mrs. Lois Forbes of Harrisonburg, a 1964 graduate of JMU, is an owner and director of multiple real estate development companies with holdings in Virginia and Tennessee. Term: 2010-2014.

 

Mrs. Leslie F. Gilliam of Keswick, VA is the Vice President for Cumberland Development.  Term 2011-2015.

 

Mr. Donald J. Rainey of Great Falls, VA is a 1982 graduate of James Madison University and is a general partner of Grotech Ventures.  Term 2011-2015.

 

Mr. Larry M. Rogers of Harrisonburg has his B.S. (1979) and his M.Ed. (1981) from JMU.   Term: 2008-2012.

 

Mr. Steve Smith of Abingdon, a 1979 graduate of JMU, is President and Chief Executive Officer of K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. Term:  2010-2014.

 

Mrs. Judith "Judy" Strickler of Harrisonburg, a 1960 graduate of JMU, is a former teacher at JMU and at York High School. She is a former board member of the JMU Foundation.  Term: 2008-2012.

 

Mr. Fred Thompson of Ashburn, Virginia, is Chief Administrative Officer of Thompson Hospitality in Herndon, VA.Term:  2011-2015.

 

Mr. Christopher Brown  is the non-voting student member of the board.  He is a senior from Charlottesville, VA Term:  2011-2012.

 

Mrs. Donna L. Harper of Harrisonburg, executive assistant to JMU President Linwood H. Rose, serves as secretary to the board.  She has a bachelor's degree (1977) and educational specialist degree (1986) from JMU.

 

Dr. Robert T. Jerome of Bridgewater is speaker of the JMU Faculty Senate and serves as the non-voting faculty representative to the board.
