Honor Code Test

JMU Honor Code Tutorial and Test Information

Beginning Fall '06, all incoming first-year students, transfer students and graduate students are required to complete the JMU Honor Code Tutorial and Test.  The intent of this requirement is an effort to increase individual student awareness regarding the JMU Honor Code and Honor Council.

Incoming students are required to complete the online tutorial and test by the end of their first semester.  Failure to complete the requirement by the deadline will result in an information hold placed on the student's record which will prohibit students from receiving any official document from the university such as transcripts and/or diplomas.

To educate students about the JMU Honor Code and Honor Council procedures, a student-hosted 10-minute tutorial was developed.  The tutorial is viewable in two separate parts.  Part 1 addresses the JMU Honor Code.  Part 2 explains the Honor Council process and procedures.  The tutorial and the text of the JMU Honor Code contain all of the information necessary to complete the test.

The JMU Honor Code test is available online and may be taken from any location.  The test is delivered in a multiple-choice format, and students will receive their score at the end of the exam. The test includes approximately 30 - 35 questions. Students may take as much time as necessary to complete the test.  Test scores are uploaded to e-campus, becoming part of the official student record.  If you have questions, you should find our Frequently Asked Questions page helpful.
