Sessions have been set up for the following dates:
What to expect:
Please make arrangements to attend for about 15 minutes during one session. it will only take you a few minutes during one of the three time slots to pop in, write a note and grab some light snacks, but it will make an impact on those who support your educational success at JMU. Students will be coming and going so do not feel you must attend for the entire time period, just long enough to write your note.
Scholarship students will be provided with a brief history of the scholarship, if available, and the writing materials necessary to write a short note to the donor or manager of that scholarship. In your note you should include the following information: your name, the date, which scholarship you received, where you are from, class year, what you are studying, why the scholarship is meainingful to you and special projects or activities that you are working on, or involved with. Many donors themselves are alumni and are anxious to stay connected with current students who have benefitted from their generosity.
*If you cannot make any of these time slots, you will need to stop by our office at 220 University Blvd. Suite 3100 (across from O'Neills Grill and Bruster's Ice Cream) and complete your Thank You Note or make other special arrangements. Please have your note complete by Friday, November 1.
*Thank You notes may be shared by the University Advancment for the purpose of acknowledging gifts in support of JMU. Also, this information may be used in communications materals (i.e., annual publications, newsletters, the website) for the purpose of highlighting the impact of private support. Forms will be available at the sessions if students wish to opt out of sharing their letters.
