Dr. Matt Ezzell is an Associate Professor of Sociology and a member of the Advisory Board of the Women's and Gender Studies minor at JMU. Dr. Ezzell has been active in the rape-crisis and anti-violence movements since 1996, and his teaching and research focuses on the sociology of inequality and interpersonal violence. As an academic and activist dedicated to healthy social change, he is especially interested in the social processes by which race, class, and gender inequality are reproduced and resisted.
