Dimension desktops and Inspiron laptops are Dell's home-use, consumer-class systems, built to focus on price over dependability and business use. They use less expensive, less rigorously tested components and are not designed to meet the demands of a business environment. The OptiPlex desktops and Latitude laptops are Dell's Educational and Professional level systems designed for stability, reliability, and ease of service. The parts tested in the development of the systems are comparable to the parts used throughout the maintenance life ofthe model. The systems are designed for high-speed networks like our campus network, and have proven reliability.
