This scholarship is intended to benefit an entering freshman who is a minority or female and is enrolled in the Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) curriculum and in particular the technology areas. Priority will be given to African-American applicants and female applicants. The recipient must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0. As long as they continue to meet the scholarship's criteria, they will receive this scholarship for a total of four academic years. The scholarship dollar amount will be awarded as follows: freshman year $1,000; sophomore year $2,000; junior year $2,500; senior year $3,000. Each student will receive a total of $8,500 over the four-year period providing they continue to meet the criteria. The scholarship will be administered by the JMU Scholarship Office. Each year, three additional entering freshman will be selected. If at any time a recipient fails to maintain the selection criteria, the scholarship will be revoked. The scholarship will be re-awarded to another qualified student, of the same academic class year.
