Graduate students in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program developed final projects focused on improving the quality of health policies and legislations, with a focus on expanding patient outreach within a hospital setting. The final project designs include formal policy analysis examining unintended medical errors, implementation of a desk-to-phone app to improve communication systems, and a predictive modeling tool design to reduce no-shows. College of Education graduate students participated in the Just Peace Leadership Institute (JPLI) in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to explore educational approaches that foster peace. Contemporary issues were examined throughout the trip to strengthen approaches that conflict at the national, local, and school levels. Dr. Michael Stoloff, a devoted educational leader, retired from his position as associate dean of The Graduate School after 44 years at JMU.
