Information Technology Rolls Out New Security Awareness Training

Information Technology-Computing

JMU Information Technology has rolled out a revised Security Awareness Training program through KnowBe4, a JMU IT partner. All employees (including student employees) and affiliates should have received an email on Wednesday, October 15 from do-not-reply@jmu.edu containing an assignment that must be completed as part of the program. Security Awareness Training is mandatory and must be completed by December 19, 2025.

Previously, Security Awareness Training was required every 90 days as part of the password change process for your JMU eID account. Going forward, Security Awareness Training will be required only once per year and is no longer tied to password changes.

2025 Security Awareness Training Details

  • How to Access: The KnowBe4 system can be accessed either through the Okta dashboard (https://mylogin.jmu.edu/) or through a link in the email containing your Security Awareness Training assignment. Please log in with your JMU credentials (your eID, password, and Okta Verify, if required).
  • Time Required: The training is self-paced and takes approximately 25 minutes to complete.
  • Due Date: December 19, 2025

If you do not complete Security Awareness Training by December 19, 2025, you may lose your access to JMU systems (Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, and more). For questions or assistance, please contact the IT Help Desk at (540) 568-3555 or helpdesk@jmu.edu.
