submission guidelines

e-Vision invites submissions from students of GWRIT 103 on a semester-by-semester basis. The deadline for submissions is the last day of classes each semester. Essays must be submitted during the semester of enrollment in GWRIT. Please note that e-Vision is published annually each spring. Thus essays submitted during the spring semester will be considered for the next year's volume.

Electronic Submission Guidelines

  • Remove your name from the essay and replace it with your PeopleSoft ID # (found on your JAC card).
  • Save your essay as your PeopleSoft ID#. If submitting more than one essay, add the number of the submission (ex. -1 or -2).
  • Send the essay as an attachment to evision@jmu.edu from your JMU email address. Essays submitted from non-JMU email accounts or from email accounts not owned by the writer of the essay will not be accepted.
  • In the subject line of the email message type "submission."
  • In the body of your message, include your name, your PeopleSoft ID number, the title of your essay, your professor's name, and the semester of enrollment in GWRIT 103.
  • Attach your submission(s). Please do not paste essays in the body of the email message.

Hard-copy Submission Guidelines

  • Remove your name from the essay and replace it with your PeopleSoft ID # (found on your JAC card).
  • Complete the submission coversheet.
  • Place your essay, along with coversheet, in the e-Vision mailbox located in Harrison 2276C. You may also send your essay via campus mail to MSC 2103, or give it to your GWRIT 103 instructor.

If selected for publication, you will be contacted via email during the spring semester.

Submitted essays should be double-spaced and use a 12 point font. Papers containing research should follow an acceptable style guide (MLA, APA, Chicago).
