1.There are no direct equivalent courses for ISAT courses at the community college, however the department recommends the following VCCS (RBC) courses which may be applied to the major:
MTH 173 or 273, or 175 and 176 (must take both 175 and 176 to get credit) (RBC: Mathematics 201) CSC 110 or ITP 112 (RBC: no equivalent) PHY 231 and 232, or 241 and 242 (RBC: Physics 201 and 202) MTH 146, 157, 240, or 241 and 242 (must take both 241 and 242 to get credit)(RBC: Mathematics 217) CHM 111 (RBC: Chemistry 101) BIO 101 (RBC: Biology 101, 101L) BIO 106 or 107 (RBC: no equivalent) BIO 206 (RBC: no equivalent) CHM 112 or BIO 102 (RBC: Chemistry 102 or Biology 102)
2. JMU has an articulation agreement with Northern Virginia Community College. Students transferring from NOVA should contact their Counseling Center for more information. 3. Transfer students can easily complete the required courses for the ISAT degree in two years. Seats in ISAT courses are guaranteed for ISAT majors.
