Target Audience: Individuals interested in polishing their professional image.

Series Description: The Professional Etiquette series is a 6-session program that focuses on workplace and professional etiquette. Sessions 1-5 are A La Carte. Participants can register for any or all of the first five sessions. To attend session 6, participants must register for and attend sessions 1-5 in the Professional Etiquette Series.

Session One: Creating a Professional Image, Course# TD1271

What is professional etiquette and why is it important?  How you look and carry yourself matters in the world.  If you are interested in getting a professional image makeover or just want to learn a few tips this course is for you.

Participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of what is included in professional etiquette.
  • Learn what a 'Professional Image" is.
  • Learn the basics of creating and maintaining a professional image.


Session Two: Communicating with Style, Course # TD1272

What we say and how we say it matters.  Join us as we explore how our communication and communication venues affects how other see us.

Participants will:

  • Explore the effect our communication style has on others perceptions of us.
  • Learn how communication styles change in different settings including face-to-face, online and in writing.

Session Three: Workplace and Social Etiquette, Course# TD1256

We have all heard "mind your manners" and "good manners are good business" but what does that have to do with workplace etiquette? Everything!  In this session participants will explore what skills are needed to make a lasting, professional impression. Have you ever attended a social or networking event and wondered why you were there? Would you like to learn tips and tricks for socializing and networking?

Participants will:

  • Learn the basic principles of workplace etiquette.
  • Identify appropriate workplace etiquette behaviors.
  • Identify personal etiquette areas of strength and improvement.
  • Learn the art of networking.
  • Create a personal "Professional Development" action plan.

Session Four: Boardroom & Meeting Basics, Course# TD1273

Have you ever been in a meeting and wondered if you should speak up or not? Have you ever walked out of a meeting wishing you would have done something differently? In this session participants will learn proper meeting etiquette.

Participants will:

  • Learn appropriate meeting conduct.
  • Learn about different meeting settings and etiquette rules for each.
  • Explore ways to become an active, engaged meeting participant.

Have you ever wondered which utensil to use or what to order? In this session participants will learn all about dining etiquette.

Participants will:

  • Learn how dining etiquette has changed over the years.
  • Learn the ABC's of dining (from casual to fine).
  • Learn about "Service with a Smile" and what the servers are doing.
