SMAD Equipment Policies
Our equipment is available only for use by Media Arts and Design students who are working on class assignments/projects in SMAD courses.
Students are not allowed to use SMAD equipment for other projects (non-SMAD courses, freelance personal projects, etc.) without permission of Mr. Hodges, the SMAD Technology Manager.
Students are responsible for all equipment checked out and will have to pay for the repair or replacement of any equipment lost, stolen or damaged while checked out. This does not include normal wear and tear. Students should verify all components of an equipment package are included when they pick up equipment as these will be checked upon return of the equipment.
Returning equipment late will result in a lowered grade for that student's assignment or project. Returning equipment late a second time will result in the forfeiture of the student's permission to check out equipment.
Equipment Checkout Procedures
Each instructor will provide the SMAD technology manager with a course roster, contact information for each student and a list of the equipment students are allowed to checkout.
Students must use the online registration system to reserve equipment before checking it out.
Students must complete and sign a checkout form when picking up equipment.
Students may check out an automobile hang tag for passing through the campus gates to pick-up or return equipment to the checkout room when the gates are activated.
