To order a replacement diploma, the Registrar’s Office must receive a completed Diploma Request Form and a method of payment. Cost per diploma is $15 cash, check, or U.S. money order. Check or money order should be made out to James Madison University.

The diploma will have the current signatures of the University (i.e., signature of president and rector). The ordering process takes 4-6 weeks from the date that the written request and payment is received. If the mailing address is international, then the process may take longer.

The Registrar’s Office requires the signature of the student whose diploma is replaced.

We will use the name (first, middle, last, suffix) on record at the time of graduation.

If you would like to change the name listed on your diploma, please submit legal documentation of your current name (i.e. driver’s license, marriage certificate, etc.) along with your diploma request.
