Ultimate Frisbee - Women's

Ultimate is one of the quickest growing sports worldwide. It is a fast pace game that combines the skills from soccer, football, and basketball. The sport is as much of a physical challenge as it is a mental test. High level competition, skill development, and physical fitness are all major aspects of the program. Over the past few years we have gone from 6th in the state to 2nd, became a top 5 team in the region (VA, MD, DE, NC, WV, SC), and have ranked 36th in the nation. We plan to continue this upward trend. Our team consists of a wonderful group of girls who are close both on and off the field. We continually strive to keep a balance between having fun and serious competition. Our A and B teams have about 20-25 members on each team.

Fall Season practices begin the first week of school and end the last week of classes. We usually only go to 3 or 4 tournaments. The Spring season also begins the first week of classes in January with conditioning. We attend 5-8 tournaments. We leave for tournaments Friday afternoons/evenings and return Sunday afternoons/evenings. Conditioning during breaks is expected.

There are Try-puts for A team only. B team does not cut players. All JMU women are welcome to attend our practices and see if they would like to join the team! There are no membership requirements, but members of the team are expected to maintain a certain level of commitment to practices and tournaments. Dues for one semester are typically $75, plus occasional gas money and food when we are at tournaments.

We practice Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 5-7pm on the Lower East Campus Fields (behind ISAT & Festival, formally the Varsity soccer complex). There are track workouts for Tuesday and weekend.
