Cross Country and Track Sports Club 2016

Club Cross Country and Track is a sports club that brings together runners of all levels from the JMU community to train and compete in races of varying distance and terrain. We have 80-90 members.

We compete against schools from all over the nation that are also a part of the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association. The cross country season takes place in the fall and track in the spring. Over the course of the year we participate in 6-8 meets. We also host our own cross country meet and track invitational!

Runners of all levels are welcome to join. We require that every club member pays dues each semester.  We also ask that every club member participates in a certain number of community service/fundraising events in order to travel with the team. Dues are approximately $60 per semester and $110 per year. This covers all race entries and travel expenses. For tournaments, the club covers the team entry fee of any National Intercollegiate Running Club Association cross country meets or invitational's, but members are responsible for paying their own entry fee for road races throughout the year. Travel and lodging fees are generally paid for by the club for all dues paying members.

Members can pick and choose which practice days work best for them. We do not require that members go to every practice. Monday nights are track workout/intervals at ISAT Track. Tuesday through Thursday 4:00pm we meet in front of UREC for varying distance runs. Wednesdays are our longer runs. Tuesdays and Thursdays are shorter runs/tempo runs/fartek workouts, etc. During the track season in the spring, Thursday nights are track workouts/intervals at the ISAT track
Friday at 3:00pm we meet in front of UREC for a distance run.
